| Michelton State High School gets an Interactive Electronic Whiteboard | |||
|
In the 1970s it was the overhead projector. In the 1990s it was the computer. Now it is the interactive electronic whiteboard. Basically it turns the classroom blackboard into a large interactive computer. Each student in the class is equipped with a device looking like a mobile phone and by pushing buttons can interact with the lesson on the screen and with the teacher conducting the session. Each student's progress is automatically recorded. Recently I attended the presentation of an interactive electronic whiteboard to Mitchelton State High School. At the presentation I was joined by State member for Ashgrove Kate Jones. We took part in a lesson with a class of students being introduced to the technology which amazed us and was eagerly embraced by the students.
