Michelton State High School gets an Interactive Electronic Whiteboard 15 October 2009

In the 1970s it was the overhead projector. In the 1990s it was the computer. Now it is the interactive electronic whiteboard.

Basically it turns the classroom blackboard into a large interactive computer.

Each student in the class is equipped with a device looking like a mobile phone and by pushing buttons can interact with the lesson on the screen and with the teacher conducting the session. Each student's progress is automatically recorded.

Recently I attended the presentation of an interactive electronic whiteboard to Mitchelton State High School. At the presentation I was joined by State member for Ashgrove Kate Jones. We took part in a lesson with a class of students being introduced to the technology which amazed us and was eagerly embraced by the students.
