Arch Bevis - Federal Labor Member for Brisbane

Communify's $1.2 Million for Mental Health Services 26 February 2009

Federal Member for Brisbane Arch Bevis today announced that Communify would receive $1,210,800 to increase mental health services in the western suburbs.
Mr Bevis said: “This Federal Government funding is a major boost for families in the western suburbs.
“It will provide Communify with five full-time equivalent positions under the Personal Helpers and Mentors programme.
“The programme assists people who cannot manage their daily activities or live independently in the community because of the impact of having severe mental illness.”
Personal Helpers and Mentors work one-on-one with participants to help them gain greater independence and overcome social isolation.
They also work on improving relationships with family and friends and ensuring participants are connected with essential clinical and support services.
Mr Bevis added: “Communify does a magnificent job in providing a range of services for the community.
“I am very pleased that Communify has received this funding to expand the excellent work that it does and the support it will provide for families in our local suburbs.”
